The scale of SONIP’s operations was significant—for example, in 2014, during Orlando’s tenure as President, it was estimated that SONIP was constructing 35,000 homes in Angola. These efforts enabled thousands of Angolan families to live in improved conditions.

  Following his graduation and training, Orlando worked on several major electrical engineering projects for the Ministry of Energy in Angola. While at the Ministry of Energy, Orlando collaborated with the World Bank and the African Development Bank to help prepare comprehensive studies needed to finance plans for the electrification of rural areas in Angola.
