Performed scientific experiments to study the importance of the protein carbonylation in plants in response to wounding stress.

Performed scientific experiments to screen rice (Oryza sativa) MAGICHeat genotypes for key grain quality attributes under high -day temperature (HDT) and high night temperature (HNT) conditions.

Role - VWR, is a distributor of scientific lab wares and chemicals. I worked as an Associate to support the quality assurance (US & Canada offices) team. My responsibility was to ensure that the quality certificates of the purchased products from the manufacturers has been sent to the customers before the actual product gets shipped.

Role – Received a competitive fellowship to attend several laboratory trainings on interdisciplinary biology and performed scientific experiments to study the effects of ascorbate on the oxygen evolving complex of the photosystem II in higher plants.

My work focused on the improvement of rice variety Co43 for submergence tolerance through marker assisted backcross approach. Having the advantage of rice genome sequenced, I was involved in genotyping the rice backcross progenies introgressed with submergence tolerant QTL in the variety Co43 using the foreground and background SSR markers.

Role - Assisted doctoral researchers and master students with their experiments. Knowledge and skills acquired – methylglyoxal stress gene, callus induction culture, and transformation of gene construct into rice callus, agrobacterium mediated transformation.
