Solution Architecture at Teradata is an interesting and varying field due to the extensive portfolio of products and services in the emerging market of advanced analytics, machine learning and AI. As part of the sales team I am responsible for architecting the appropriate solution for our valued customers and advising on the relevant technology stack, be that on premise, public or private cloud.

As principal solution engineer, I supported the DACH team on in multiple activities including - Sales support: all technical pre-sales support, presentations, demonstrations and POCs, proposals and project estimation - Marketing: contribution of content, webinar content and presentation, presentations at conferences - Consulting: requirement workshops, training and customer-specific workshops

As principle consultant for Lodestone, I was seconded to a global SAP template development as integration manager. In this role, I planned and coordinated the integration test cycle, led the data migration and advised on technology and SAP architecture and release management as well as planning the cutover.

1. Functional integration manager on Sasol international consolidation project of 18 corporate SAP systems. Team lead of functional integration consultants, management of integration test content, interface coordination. 2. Solution Architect on Bridgestone SAP Business All-in-One project. Overall solution design, guiding the project team in ASAP Focus and Best Practice approach, gap/fit analysis, project estimating & scope management, assisting with project management activities.

As change manager on behalf of R3D at Farecia, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, I planned and coordinated end-user training, roles and authorisations, and business improvement and support activities, which contributed to a successful go-live January 2011. Faurecia is a Automotive supplier. The project in South Africa was a rollout of the global template. SAP ECC6 with SD, PP, MM, FI & CO

In the role of Business Analyst I represented the municipality on the new billing system project, under development by Fujitsu on the ProMIS platform. In this role I guided the SME team in creating business and functional specifications and performing unit testing. I organised and coordinated the interface specification, development and testing with the multitude of 3rd parties and separate departments within the municipality.

Projects at customers of T-Systems including a Logistics and MRP project at Volkswagen S.A. in the role of project manager, and as MM consultant to Neotel (telecom company), Aunde (Automotive supplier), and Behr (Automotive supplier). MM consulting included MM-PUR, MM-IM, MM-MRP, QM, and bespoke ABAP solutions for MIDP, and Bill-of-Entry Systems. Pre-sales experience with proposals and tenders.

Integration Manager on a large SAP Automotive project at Nissan South Africa. In this role I was responsible for planning and executing 2 integration testing cycles, coordinating volume and stress testing and developing and executing the cutover schedule.

2 years subsequent to their SAP implementation, Tenneco had massive inventory problems. On approaching me, I assisted their purchasing team to optimise procurement processes, fix master data problems and utilise reports and KPIs for managing inventory. Within 3 months the procurement problems had been stabilised while inventories had been reduced by a third.

As MM consultant, integration manager and later project manager, I represented CDE/Business Connexion at various customer projects including Volkswagen, Tenneco Automotive, Delta Motorcorporation, Toyota South Africa. International engagements included Merisol USA (Chemical Industry) where I project managed a team of 12 consultants and General Motors EMEA as integration manager.

As business analyst I was responsible for creating the business process specifications for the procurement and inventory management processes at Industex during the SAP implementation. It included configuration and testing and later support. The SAP implementation project formed the basis of my master's dissertation on business process reengineering.

I lectured at information management courses at undergraduate and post graduate level and supervised a post graduate project. Research during this period was in the area of information security and resulted in a paper presented at the international IFIP conference in Cape Town.
