 Research regarding NGPON2: FDMA Access By Using Low-cost Optical Network Units in Silicon Photonics (FABULOUS): o Theoretical analysis regarding the nonlinearities of the Reflective - Mach Zehnder Modulator (R-MZM) and the system performance. o Characterization of components. o System experiments.

 Characterization of DS fibers using CW, NRZ 10Gbps and PM 100Gbps channels: o Four-wave-mixing product. o Performance evaluation with BER vs. OSNR, BER vs. λ.  Characterization of Raman amplification (counter pumping): o For different type of fibers: SMF, TW-RS and DS. o Impact of pump power. o Data processing of: On-Off Gain, Tilt, Ripple, OSNR, Noise Figure.
